The original cast album of the Frank Wildhorn - Nan Knighton musical The Scarlet Pimpernel will be released in February 1998 by Atlantic Records, according to a production spokesman.

However, a songbook of sheet music from the show's 1992 concept album, available now, contains seven vocal selections from the new Broadway musical, arranged for piano and voice.

The booklet, "Linda Eder in the Scarlet Pimpernel" (ISBN#0897242114) was published by Warner Bros. and also contains six other songs that have since been cut.

Here are the seven published songs (music by Frank Wildhorn, lyrics by Nan Knighton) still in the show: "They Seek Him Here," "The Scarlet Pimpernel," "When I Look at You," "The Riddle," "Storybook," "You Are My Home," "Pimpernel Fanfare."

A spokesman for Warner Bros Publications said the company has not yet decided whether it will publish the new songs. The booklet is being sold at sheet music stores around the U.S., and via mail order at (800) 628-1528.

The production is now in previews for a Nov. 9 opening at the Minskoff Theatre.
