News Scene It!, New Musical Theatre Competition, to Play the Jerry Orbach Theatre in September Scene It!, New York's newest musical theatre competition, will be presented Sept. 23 at the Jerry Orbach Theatre.

Adam Sank — from NBC's "Last Comic Standing" — will host the evening, which begins at 7:30 PM.

The competition will feature one musical scene from each of nine new musicals. The scenes/musicals selected for Scene It! follow: "Runaway Love" from The New Musical; "I finally get it" from Goin' South; "Second Thoughts" from What If...?; "Oobalee Boobalees" from Fellow; "The Letters" from The Man In The Iron Mask; "Living in NYC" from The New Musical; "Central Park" from Pigeons: A Musical Fable of New York; "1A Taste of M2L" from More To Love; and "How I lost my V-card" from Dammit Danielle.

Each contestant will receive constructive criticism from Broadway insiders. One scene will ultimately be chosen by a celebrity panel of judges to receive a monetary grant to further develop the musical.

The evening will feature lighting design by Susan Nicholson and graphic design by by Robert Piper. The production stage manager is Jennifer Rogers. Producers are On Que Entertainment and Pluto Productions.

The Jerry Orbach Theatre is located at 210 West 50th Street. Ticket prices are $20 for general admission and $35 for VIP tickets, which include reserved seating and the exclusive VIP reception immediately following the performance; visit www.sceneit2010.com.
