News Schwartz, Zippel and Abramson to Appear in July 31 New Mondays Concert The New Mondays series, which presents the works of new and legendary composers and lyricists, resumes July 31 at the Laurie Beechman Theatre.

The 7 PM concert will feature the work of veteran composer Stephen Schwartz and Tony-winning lyricist David Zippel as well as up-n-coming composer Deborah Abramson. In addition to Schwartz, Zippel and Abramson, the evening will also include appearances by Christopher Marlowe, Sally Wilfert and Michael Winther. Stephen Schwartz is the composer of Wicked, Godspell, Pippin, The Magic Show, The Baker's Wife and Children of Eden. David Zippel has penned lyrics for City of Angels, The Goodbye Girl, The Woman in White and the film "Mulan." A graduate of the NYU Musical Theatre Program, Deborah Abramson's composing credits include Songs of Innocence and Experience (with William Finn), Marco Polo (with Peter Mills) and Seasick (with Judson Pearce Morgan).

The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located within the West Bank Café at 407 West 42nd Street. There is an $18 cover charge and a $15 food-drink minimum. Call (212) 695-6909 for reservations.
