The series, hosted by a Broadway artist, presents five new vocalists each month performing the work of either an emerging or established composer, who will join the "new voices" on stage to accompany them on their performances.

In a statement composer-lyricist Alan said, "After taking a year off from producing the New Voices series at the Duplex, the timing just felt right to begin honoring new talent again in New York City. This is a series that I am extremely proud of and was fortunate to produce for seven years, and I can't wait to watch new talent take the stage every month standing side by side with some of the most established talent our industry and city have to offer. As always, the series will continue to celebrate new composers and new lyricists in the theatre as well, which was always one of my favorite parts of the evening."

Among the many performers whose talents have been showcased in the series are Jeremy Jordan, Natalie Weiss, Marla Mindelle, Patti Murin, Tory Ross, Jenny Powers, Ali Stroker, Kate Wetherhead, Katie Thompson and Mamie Parris, among others.
