He joins the previously announced Sharon Horgan, Andy Nyman and Caroline Quentin in the production directed by Frank Oz. In the play, "Stanley (Stinky to his friends, played by Nyman) and Jake (Bakula) are best friends. Hedda (Quentin) and Delila (Horgan) are best friends. Jake loves Hedda; Stinky loves Delila. Stinky plans to marry Delila, until Jake shares some secrets and then gives him some advice."
Bakula, who has also recently guest-starred in seasons two and three of NBC television’s "Chuck" as the title character's father, Stephen Bartowski, can currently can be seen on the TNT series "Men of a Certain Age." Onstage, he made his Broadway debut as Joe DiMaggio in Marilyn: An American Fable, followed by the Off-Broadway musical Three Guys Naked From the Waist Down. He was Tony-nominated for his performance in Romance/Romance in 1988. Bakula recently returned to his stage roots, playing Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls at the Hollywood Bowl in LA. Other recent credits include Jane Anderson’s Quality of Life at the Geffen Playhouse, No Strings at UCLA’s Ralph Freud Playhouse and Shenandoah at the Ford’s Theater in Washington, D.C.
