Wittman (Hairspray, "Smash") conceived and directs the world-premiere piece that is assembled from Curtis' songs, manuscripts and poetry. It will officially open May 30.

The cast includes Tony nominee Justin Vivian Bond (Kiki & Herb), Bridget Everett, Cole Escola and Steel Burkhardt (Hair), with special appearances by Penny Arcade, Jayne County, Cherry Vanilla and Agosto Machado, who will perform throughout the run.

According to LaMaMa, Jukebox Jackie promises "Snatches of Jackie Curtis – a collage of scenes, poetry, music and dance culled from the works of Jackie Curtis, who performed as both a man and a woman throughout his career in the 60's, 70's and 80's, stating, 'I'm not a boy, not a girl. I'm just me, Jackie.'"

Wittman collaborated with Tony Zanetta to assemble the revue, which has production design by Tony winner Scott Pask, lighting design by Aaron Spivey, costume design by Rita Ryack, staging by Joey Pizzi and musical direction by Lance Horne.

"When Scott Wittman first came to me about Jukebox Jackie, I knew the work was perfect for our 50th anniversary season," said LaMaMa artistic director Mia Yoo. "Ellen Stewart loved Jackie Curtis; Jackie was brash and gritty and glamorous and fit right in at La MaMa. I'm thrilled to have this chance to celebrate a remarkable, artistic provocateur in this exciting performance."

Performances run through June 10. Tickets are available by calling (212) 475-7710 or by visiting LaMaMa. La MaMa e.t.c. is located at 74A East 4th Street in Manhattan.
