News Screenings of Paul Newman Our Town Sell Out at Westport Playhouse All presentations of the Westport Country Playhouse screenings of Our Town, honoring the life and legacy of late actor Paul Newman, have sold out.

Originally scheduled as a one-day event on Nov. 22, Westport added two additional days of screenings on Nov. 20 and 21 to accommodate the demand for tickets to the free event. All tickets for the three-day celebration sold out in less than five hours when they became available on Nov. 3.

Westport states that a wait list will be available during each of the pre-film gatherings, one-hour prior to the screening time.

Filmed by the Showtime cable network during its Broadway run, Our Town marked Newman's final stage appearance. The acclaimed actor portrayed the Stage Manager in the James Naughton-helmed production that began life at the Westport Country Playhouse and subsequently transferred to Broadway in 2002.

Paul Newman, the ruggedly handsome Oscar-winning actor known for his roles in "Cool Hand Luke," "Hud," "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," and Broadway's Picnic, Sweet Bird of Youth and The Desperate Hours, lost his battle with cancer on Sept. 26 at the age of 83.
