The Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire, IL, runs the Tony Award-winning musical comedy spoof through June 27.

The show-within-a-show (with Tony-winning book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar and a Tony-winning score by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison) concerns a show-tune addict (named Man in Chair, played by James Harms) who shares with the audience his favorite cast album — 1928's fictional The Drowsy Chaperone. As he plays the record, the vintage musical comes to life around him. The Marriott Company also includes Adrian Aguilar as Gangster #1, Alex Aguilar as Gangster #2, Melody Betts as Trix, David Lively as Feltzieg, Andy Lupp as George, Adam Pelty as Aldolpho, John Reeger as Underling, Laura Taylor as Kitty, plus Cheryl Avery, Matthew Crowle, Erik Floor and Katie Spelman.

The production team includes musical director Doug Peck, properties designer Jesse Gaffney, sound designer Robert E. Gilmartin, costume designer Nancy Missimi, set designer Thomas M. Ryan and lighting designer Diane Williams. Patti Garwood conducts the Marriott Theatre orchestra.
