News Seagull, with Kristin Scott Thomas, Eyes New York Kristin Scott Thomas may be readying for her Broadway debut. According to Variety, the British actress may lead a New York Broadway transfer of Ian Rickson's Royal Court production of The Seagull.

There is no word yet on casting beyond Scott Thomas, who opened in Christopher Hampton's new version of Chekhov's classic at the London venue Jan. 25. In Rickson's production – the director's last for the Royal Court as artistic director - Scott Thomas played Arkadina, and Mackanzie Crook played her angst-ridden son Konstantin. Chiwetel Eijiofor took on the role of the famous writer Trigorin. Beginning in November, the actor will play the title role of Othello opposite Ewan McGregor's Iago at London's Donmar.

That run is due to finish in Feb. 23, 2008, two months before a possible late-April opening of The Seagull at The Cort Theatre.
