News Seattle Elf to Feature Matt Owen, Kendra Kassebaum and Kim Huber; Complete Cast Announced Matt Owen, Kendra Kassebaum, Allen Fitzpatrick and Kim Huber will celebrate Christmas in the 5th Avenue Theatre production of Elf, which will begin performances Nov. 30 in Seattle.

Eric Ankrim will stage the musical that will run through Dec. 31. Based on the 2003 film of the same title, Elf has a score by Wedding Singer songwriters Matthew Sklar (music) and Chad Beguelin (lyrics) and a book by Tony Award winners Bob Martin (The Drowsy Chaperone) and Thomas Meehan (Annie, Hairspray, The Producers).

The Seattle production is a separate staging from the return Broadway engagement that will begin performances Nov. 9 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre and the mini-tour that launches Nov. 4 in Providence, RI.

Owen (5th Ave's Oklahoma!, On the Town) will star as Buddy, with Kassebaum (Leap of Faith, Wicked) as Jovie, Fitzpatrick (Les Miserables, Memphis) as Walter and Huber (Beauty and the Beast, Sunset Boulevard) as Emily.

The cast also features Seattle veteran Seán G. Griffin as Santa, Cynthia Jones as the Store Manager, Nick DeSantis as Mr. Greenway, Jessica Skerritt as Deb, and Noah Barr and Grayson Smith alternating as Michael.

The ensemble includes Blaine Boyd, Gabe Corey, Taryn Darr, Sarah Rose Davis, Christian Duhamel, Richard Gray, Charlie Johnson, Nikki Long, Greg McCormick Allen, Trina Mills, Corinna Lapid Munter, Brandon O'Neill, Katherine Strohmaier, Carolyn Willems Van Dijk, Kirsten deLohr Helland Jack Fleischmann, Victoria Alkin and Emily Brooks. According to the 5th Avenue, "Elf – The Musical follows the magical tale of Buddy, a human raised by elves at the North Pole. Buddy sets off to the Big City to find his real dad, and through his unwavering devotion to all things Christmas, he rescues his father from the naughty list, finds true love, and saves Santa and the spirit of Christmas."

The creative team includes Matthew Smucker (set design), David C. Woolard (costume design), Tom Sturge (lighting design) and Tony Smolenski IV (sound design). Andy Grobengieser serves as musical director with Denis Jones as choreographer.
