Two members of the London-based drag theatre troupe Bloolips, whose imported works have been a hit with Seattle audiences, return to sprinkle sequins and silliness on this rainy city in Bloo Revue at On The Boards beginning Feb. 25.

Bloo Revue, dubbed a "Bloolips retrospectacle", will encapsulate great moments from Bloolips repertoire of camp classics such as Get Hur, The Island of Lost Shows, and more somber efforts like Night After Night, and Sarrasine, all presented previously in Seattle by On The Boards.

Drag doyenne Bette Bourne who founded the company in 1997, will co-star with company member Precious Pearl, Bloolips mixes English Music Hall traditions with camp drag and American vaudeville to concoct a rollicking and unique brand of entertainment, and the company has been honored by two Obie awards for its NY appearances.

Bourne started at the Bristol Old Vic in 1961 and has performed (in pre-Bloolips days) with Sir Ian McKellan, Dame Sybil Thorndyke, and Simon Callow, under such directors as Trevor Nunn and Maria Aitken.

Precious Pearl, aka Paul Shaw, has, in addition to his Bloolips stage credits written lyrics for several of their shows including Lust In Space, Slung Back and Strapless, and Gland Hotel. Pianist Nicholas Bloomfield, who composed and arranged both Sarrasine and Night After Night accompanies the duo.

Performances are Wed.-Sun. Feb. 25-Mar. 1 and Mar. 4-8 at On The Boards, 14th & E. Fir, corner of Yesler. All performances are at 8 PM. For tickets ($16-$18) call (206) 325-7901, stop bt Bailey Coy Books or online www.ontheboards.org.
