The Toronto Second City ensemble has opened with a new revue, Tragically OHIP. OHIP is the Ontario Government health care plan. In these days of government cutbacks and lay-offs the satire is scheduled for an open-ended run. From Squeegee kids to the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) to relocating homeless people to the wilderness of Algonquin Park, the director, Sandra Balcovske keeps the show fast paced, but at the same time with a heart.
This is one of the last original works for the Old Firehall Theatre, as the troupe move to a new location next year. For tickets or information, call (416) 863-1111.
