The second Panama Jazz Festival will take place January 20-22, 2005, the festival announced. Featured performers include pianist Danilo P_rez, the festival's founder and artistic director, and saxophonist Joe Lovano.

The Panamanian-born P_rez appears with his trio, with drummer Jack DeJohnette and bassist John Patitucci. Also on the program are guitarist Charlie Hunter and his trio and vocalist Janis Siegel, a member of the Manhattan Transfer, with her own group.

The inaugural festival, in September 2003, included trombonist Steve Turre, violinist Regina Carter, and pianist Kenny Barron, as well as P_rez.
