As recently reported, Deavere Smith's Let Me Down Easy, which concerns medicine and health care, will begin previews in Manhattan Sept. 15 with an opening in October. Leonard Foglia directs. Let Me Down Easy will be followed by Beane's Fitch in winter 2010. Scott Ellis will direct the production, which had been scheduled to run this past season but was delayed due to Ellis' schedule. Mr. and Mrs. Fitch centers on two gossip columnists. "When the social circuit no longer provides any scandalous news, they find that great celebrity can appear out of thin air," according to a previous release. The new comedy promises "a scathing look at who is in, who is out and who may not even exist at all." Beane is also the author of The Little Dog Laughed.

In summer 2010 Second Stage will offer Weitz's Trust, which "centers on a rich married man who is dissatisfied with his life," according to the Times. Playwright Weitz will also direct. Weitz is also the author of Show People and Privilege, which both debuted at Second Stage.

No casting has been announced for either show. A fourth production to be announced will also be part of the Second Stage season.

Second Stage Theatre is located at 307 West 43rd Street, off 8th Avenue. For more information call (212) 246-4422 or visit 2ST.com.
