Based on the Timothy Findley novel, Not Wanted on the Voyage features a score by Neil Bartram and a book by Brian Hill. Those taking part in the workshop at Toronto's CanStage (May 17-28) include Barbara Barsky, Tom Rooney, Michael Therriault, Steve Ross, Blythe Wilson, Juan Chioran, Jennifer Stewart, Jason Knight, Nicola Lipman, Eliza Jane Scott, Divine Earth Essence, Saidah Baba Talibah, Robin Hutton, Christina Gordon, Alon Nashman, Darcy Evans and James Kall. Rick Fox is the workshop's musical director. According to production notes Not Wanted on the Voyage is described as a cross between The Skin of Our Teeth and Watership Down, "an irreverent recounting of the story of the great flood, the ark and the dysfunctional family at the center of it all."

On Broadway Susan H. Schulman has directed revivals of Sweeney Todd and The Sound of Music and the original musical The Secret Garden.
