Music superstar and upcoming movie Nala Beyoncé met Broadway's Nala, Syndee Winters, after a June 1 performance at WACO Theater Center’s Lion King–themed Wearable Art Gala in Los Angeles.

Winters and cast members from the Broadway production of The Lion King sang “Shadowland” for an audience that included Jay Z, Blue Ivy, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, Tiffany Haddish, Tyler Perry, Anthony Anderson, and Magic Johnson.

The 23-time Grammy-winning Beyoncé plays Pride Rock's lioness in the live-action remake of the classic animated film, set to premiere in theatres July 19.

The Jon Favreau-directed film features Tony and Oscar winner Elton John's songs from the original movie. The all-star cast includes Donald Glover as Simba, James Earl Jones reprising his voice performance as Mufasa, Beyoncé as Nala, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, John Kani as Rafiki, John Oliver as Zazu, Billy Eichner as Timon, and Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, with Amy Sedaris as a new character written specifically for this adaptation.
