See Brandon Victor Dixon, Beth Malone, and More Pay Tribute to Tony Winner Dick Scanlan

Transport Group's 2018 gala benefit, A Toast to the Artist Honoring Dick Scanlan, was held March 12 at The Current, Pier 59 at Chelsea Piers.

The event honored Scanlan, who wrote the book and lyrics for the Tony-winning Thoroughly Modern Millie, with the Transporting American Theatre Award, which recognizes contributions to the American theatre. (A reunion concert, featuring much of the original cast of Millie, was recently presented to benefit The Actors Fund).

Performances were given by Brandon Victor Dixon, Harriet Harris, Beth Malone, Kathleen Marshall, Michael Mayer, Sherie Rene Scott, Ali Stroker, Jeanine Tesori, Aaron Weinstein, Betsy Wolfe, and the cast of Whorl Inside a Loop (Derrick Baskin, Chris Meyers, Ryan Quinn, Daniel J Watts, Donald Webber Jr.).
