Classic Stage Company, which opened its doors in 1967, celebrated its 50th birthday with a gala celebration honoring Tony Award-winning director John Doyle, who took over as artistic director of the Off-Broadway theatre company in 2015.
The April 23 gala at Bohemian National Hall also honored CSC board chair Lynn Angelson.
The evening featured performances by a host of actors who have worked with Doyle, including The Color Purple Tony Award winner Cynthia Erivo, Tony Award nominee Judy Kuhn (Passion at CSC), and Tony Award winner Donna McKechnie (Ten Cents a Dance at Williamstown).
