The Public Theater celebrated the official March 7 opening of Pulitzer Prize winner Bruce Norris’ The Low Road, an ambitious new drama about the birth of capitalism in America. The U.S. premiere, which began performances February 13, is directed Off-Broadway by Dear Evan Hansen's Michael Greif.

Set in the 18th century, The Low Road imagines America’s first laissez-faire capitalist, played by Looking's Chris Perfetti. Billed as a “parable about the true cost of inequality,” the play follows the young man’s path to riches at whatever cost.
