Performances will begin September 25 at the Off-Broadway venue.
The cast is now complete for the fall New York premiere of Jane Anderson’s Mother of the Maid. As previously announced, Tony winner and Oscar nominee Glenn Close will lead the cast as Isabelle Arc—Joan of Arc’s mother, who offers a rarely seen perspective to the story behind the historical figure.
Joining Close in the Public Theater production will be Dermot Crowley (The Weir) as Jacques Arc, Olivia Gillatt (Pushkin) as Monique, Kate Jennings Grant (Noises Off) as Lady of the Court, Andrew Hovelson (Lucky Guy) as Pierre Arc, Daniel Pearce (Machinal) as Father Gilbert, and Grace Van Patten (The Whirligig)as Joan.
Off-Broadway performances will begin September 25 and run on extension through December 2; opening night is set for October 17.
The Matthew Penn-helmed production will feature sets by John Lee Beatty, costumes by Jane Greenwood, lighting design by Lap Chi Chu, sound design and original music by Alexander Sovronsky and Joanna Lynne Staub.
