News Selections Announced for Samuel French Off-Off-Broadway Play Festival The 33rd annual Samuel French Off-Off-Broadway Short Play Festival, featuring a selection of 40 plays, will begin July 15 at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre.

Established in 1975, the annual week-long festival – running July 15-20 – culls its selections from nationwide submissions from playwriting workshops, university theatre programs and professional companies.

All 40 productions are presented to a panel of judges composed of playwrights, agents and Samuel French editorial staff, who will select six finalists to have their works licensed and published by Samuel French, Inc.

Hanson; Friendly Fire by T.E.     9PM: Good Enough; When Rodney Met the Vikings; Kiss and Tell.
  • July 18, 7:30PM: Evenstar Ellesar; The Thread Men; The Adventures of…; Blind Date.
    9PM: Kissing Will; The Visit; Sex and Money and Money and Sex.
  • July 19, 3PM: Pi Yao and the Farmers’ Daughters; Marked; Ayravana Files.
    4:30 PM: A Chicken Goes to Broadway; DNA; The Club; The Queen is Dead.
    7:30PM: Molly Finn R.I.P. we love you; The Art Lady; Yog Sothoth.
