By now we all know the opening themes to Titanic, the catchy ditties of The Life and the rousing ballads of Jekyll & Hyde -- where is the new Broadway music?

That question will be answered, Sept. 7 at noon, when the 6th annual "Broadway On Broadway" concert in Times Square, NY, gets the fall theatre season off to a musical start. More than 50,000 people are expected to attend the 90 minute revue, which features casts from current and upcoming shows (such as 1776 and Triumph Of Love), and is presented by Continental Airlines and American Express.

Admission is free. The stage is located at the downtown end of Times Square, near 43rd Street. Audience members stand.

Scheduled to sing at the 1997 "Broadway On Broadway" concert are Capeman's Marc Anthony & Ruben Blades ("Time Is An Ocean"), marking the first time Paul Simon's music from The Capeman would be heard outside a rehearsal hall. (Despite rumors that Simon would perform, concert spokesperson Adrian Bryan-Brown told Playbill On-Line Simon was not scheduled to appear.)

Susan Egan, the original Broadway Belle in Beauty and the Beast will introduce New York to "Anything," a song from her new musical Triumph of Love, which was developed in 1996 productions in Baltimore and New Haven. If you have the 1992 Scarlet Pimpernel concept-recording CD, you've heard "Into The Fire." If not, the "Broadway On Broadway" concert will be the first opportunity for audiences to encounter the tune, sung here by lead, Douglas Sills, and other cast members Gilles Chiasson, Bill Bowers, Dave Clemmons, R.F. Daley, Ed Dixon, William Thomas, Allen Fitzpatrick, James Judy, Adam Pelty and Ron Sharpe.

Also new to NY ears will be the tune "Who Will Love Me As I Am?", the first act closer for Side Show. Alice Ripley and Emily Skinner will be joined by members of the ensemble for this number.

The ensemble from Street Corner Symphony will perform the soul hit, "Get Ready."

Also scheduled to appear at the concert are:
On The Town's ensemble ("New York, New York");
1776's Brent Spiner and ensemble doing "Sit Down, John";
Annie's Brittny Kissinger, Orphans and Sandy ("A Hard-Knock Life");
Chicago's James Naughton & Marilu Henner ("All I Care About Is Love");
Jekyll & Hyde's Linda Eder, Robert Cuccioli, Christiane Noll ("This Is The Moment," "In His Eyes").
Cats' Laurie Beechman ("Memory");
Phantom Of The Opera's Tom O'Leary ("Music Of The Night");
Rent's ensemble ("Take Me Or Leave Me");
The Life's Lillias White & Ladies ("My Body");
The King And I's Faith Prince & Kids ("Getting To Know You");
Smokey Joe's Cafe's ensemble ("I'm A Woman" and "On Broadway")
Titanic's ensemble (opening sequence, "The Launching")
Grease!'s Lucy Lawless.
Noise/Funk's Ann Duquesnay.
Funny Thing...Forum's David Alan Grier & Ernie Sabella.
Beauty & The Beast's Debbie Gibson singing "Home."
