The San Francisco Chronicle chose Playbill On-Line as the "most useful and fun" theatre web site in its 2000 Best of the Web roundup, published March 7.

The paper's reporters were asked to pick their favorite sites related to their beats and theatre critic Steven Winn regarded Playbill On-Line as "thoroughly researched, up-to-date and intelligently written...an invaluable resource for the avid or casually inquisitive theatregoer."

Theatre scribe Winn similarly praised a London theatre web site, Good Show!, at www.goodshow.com.

Playbill On-Line was born on Nov. 22, 1994. Since then, it has gone on to become one of the world's leading sources of theatre news and information, offering 200 news stories, scoops, updates and features a week, and drawing over three million viewers a month.
