Eric William Morris (King Kong), Mary Kate Morrissey (Wicked, Mean Girls), and Shakina Nayfack (Difficult People) will take part in readings of The Disappearing Man, the new musical featuring book, music, and lyrics by Jahn Sood.

The readings will take place July 8 (12:30 PM), July 14 (11 AM), and July 18 (10:30 AM) at Playwrights Horizons. The Disappearing Man is presented as part of the New York Music Theatre Festival reading series.

The cast will also feature Michael Cunio (Hairspray), DC Anderson (Phantom of the Opera), and Luke Wygodny (Once).

The Disappearing Man is described as a new folk opera that takes place backstage at a small-time circus in 1936. A magician and his lovely assistant fight to break free of the roles they’ve always played and start anew, while the Lion Tamer, Ringmaster, Acrobats, and Clowns fight to keep their found family together.
