The show, at 7 PM, will take place at the Salaam Theatre, 16 West 32nd Street , 10th floor, between Fifth Avenue and Broadway, in Manhattan. It is part of the Salaam 3rd Mondays reading program, which is run by Geeta Citygirl. The plot is described thusly: "Sonali, an illustrator from Bangalore, has a job offer from an American publisher and hopes her sunny, scripture-quoting lawyer can help her obtain a visa. Meanwhile the bandit featured in a book she plans to draw isn't a fantasy. He's based on an ivory poacher Sonali heard of as a child—India's most wanted man. Cut off from his wife and daughter, the fugitive kidnaps an equally legendary movie star whom he threatens to kill unless granted amnesty."

The reading will be followed by a Q&A and a reception of wine, soda, nuts, salsa and chips, candies, and vegetarian samosas.
