News Shanahan, Ackerman, Biehl, Highfield and McCabe to Read Guidance at Berkshire Lab Mark Shanahan, Emily Ackerman and Jeff Biehl will star in the Berkshire Playwrights Lab staged reading of Daria Polatin's Guidance on July 15.

Bob Jaffe directs the free 8 PM reading that will feature Shanahan (Around the World in 80 Days, Tryst), Ackerman (This Beautiful City) and Biehl (Around the World in 80 Days) as well as Helen Highfield (Asking for Trouble) and Dan McCabe (The Lieutenant of Inishmore).

Guidance, according to press notes, "concerns a new high school guidance counselor. When he gets caught up in the lives of his students, involved with a frazzled parent, and placed on an 'educational' committee that's banning books, not even his Advil addiction can save him."

Polatin is also the playwright of Eggs in a Basket, Here or Now and Skye Blue. Her works for the screen include "The Ideal Home," "Spah" and "Happen to Know."
