Robin Givens and Nicole Ari Parker appear in the work, which is described as "a joyous celebration of a unique culture and a wrenchingly real portrait of the struggle of an oppressed minority. for colored girls tells the timeless story through 20 beautiful vignettes that inspire laughter and tears for the passion and pain of the black woman's experience." for colored girls began performances July 12 and runs through Aug. 9. The company has scheduled a post-performance discussion with Guy on July 19.

Jasmine Guy is known for her role on the television series "A Different World" and on stage in the revival of Chicago. She recently headlined the True Colors productions of Miss Evers' Boys and Blues for an Alabama Sky.

Givens appeared on Broadway in Chicago and Off-Broadway in The Vagina Monologues. She is known for her work on screen in "The Family That Preys," "House of Payne," "Boomerang," "A Good Night To Die," as well as in "The Bill Cosby Show," "Moesha," "Diff'rent Strokes," "In the House" and "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air."

Nicole Ari Parker's screen credits include "Second Time Around," "Soul Food," "Boogie Nights," "200 Cigarettes," "Stonewall," "The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love" and "Remember the Titans." She appeared Off-Broadway in June and Jean in Concert and The Flatted Fifth.
