News Sheena Easton Tells the Tale of Joseph for North Carolina Theatre July 8-17; Walker and Foard Also Star Pop star Sheena Easton plays the plucky narrator in North Carolina Theatre's July 8-17 production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in Raleigh.

Broadway's Ray Walker is the Biblical brother who is sold as a slave, presumed dead by his father and rises to help save Egypt from famine. All this while belting pop songs that tell of his plight. Casey Hushion directs. Merwin Foard (Broadway's Kiss Me, Kate, La Cage aux Folles) plays Pharaoh.

The score in considered one of Lloyd Webber's most eclectic and musical-comedy-filled — the pharaoh is presented as an Elvis-style leader.

All performances are held in Memorial Auditorium at the BTi Center for the Arts in Raleigh, NC.

Easton broke into the U.S. music scene at the age of 20 with her hit single "Morning Train," which sold over a million copies. She contributed the theme song for the James Bond film "For Your Eyes Only." In the 1980s, she worked with Prince, releasing the worldwide hits "U Got the Look" and "The Arm of Orion" (off the "Batman" soundtrack). Her recording career has included Gold and Platinum albums in the U.S., Europe and Asia, as well as two Grammy Awards.

Easton starred on Broadway opposite Raul Julia in Man of La Mancha and appeared as Rizzo on Broadway in the revival of Grease. Walker made his Broadway debut as Marius in Les Misérables, a role he played for nearly two years. Most recent Broadway credits include Annas in Jesus Christ Superstar and Doody in Grease with Rosie O'Donnell and Brooke Shields. In the West End, he appeared with Sarah Brightman in The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber at the London Palladium then toured the U.S. with the same show starring Michael Crawford. He played the Snake Preacher in the world premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Whistle Down the Wind.

Walker serves as the artistic director of the North Carolina Theatre's Kids on Broadway Conservatory for the Performing Arts.

The cast of Joseph also includes Matthew Addison, Clayton Bailey, Bree Branker, Suzanna Dupree, Brooke Leigh Engen, Merwin Foard (as Pharaoh), Vinny Genna, Demond Green, John Arthur Greene, Jenny Gulley, Brenda Hamilton, Kinsie Howell, Meredith Jones, Kristen LaBianca, Jennifer Menge, Chris Olsen, Gordy Owens, Gina Philistine, Rebecca Sherman, Kim Shriver, David F.M. Vaughn, Brian Wanee, Charlie Williams, Darryl Winslow and David Wright.

The creative team includes sound designer Jonathan Parke, lighting designer John Bartenstein, costume designer Annie Bruskiwitz, wig designer Patti DelSordo, musical director McCrae Hardy and choreographer Mark Evans.
