News Sheik, Sater, Damiano and Gallagher, Jr. to Sign Spring Awakening Script Nov. 13 In celebration of the release of the complete libretto of the Tony-winning Broadway sensation Spring Awakening, the Drama Book Shop will host a signing and performance from the cast Nov. 13.

Spring Awakening's Tony winning composer Duncan Sheik, and Tony winning lyricist and book writer Steven Sater will be on hand to sign copies of the published work, which features the musical's complete libretto, extensive notes from Steven Sater, a production history of Spring Awakening, character breakdowns, costume sketches by Susan Hilferty and biographies of the creative team.

The signing is scheduled from 5-7PM, with Spring Awakening cast members Jennifer Damiano and Tony Award winner John Gallagher, Jr., performing an acoustic version of one of the songs from the popular musical between 5-5:30PM.

Based on the 1891 expressionist play by Frank Wedekind, Spring Awakening won eight 2007 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Spring Awakening features direction by Michael Mayer, choreography by Bill T. Jones, book and lyrics by Steven Sater, and a score by Duncan Sheik.

The musical made its world premiere Off-Broadway at the Atlantic Theater Company in June 2006. Spring Awakening transferred to Broadway the following November, where it continues to play at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre.

In 2008 Spring Awakening will be launched on a national tour beginning in San Francisco. International productions are currently in development in London, Japan and Germany. The Drama Book Shop is located in Manhattan at 250 W. 40th St. (between Seventh and Eighth Avenues).
