Created by Nick Chase and Roslyn Hart and featuring Hart as Michelle "Shells" Hoffman, the show (part of an "episodic theatrical series") is billed this way: "Fresh out of a less-than-fulfilling relationship, Shells is eager to shed her 9-to-5 facade and prove she has what it takes to become an international music sensation. Performing a selection of songs spanning the pop catalog, this Carrie Bradshaw wannabe challenges the audience with her audacious, bold style. When matters of her personal life are brought up, the show takes an unexpected turn. Armed with a glass of Shiraz and a penchant for drunk-dialing, Shells leaves audience members laughing deliriously, saying: 'I know her,' or worse, 'I am her!'"

Shells previously appeared at Joe's Pub and other venues in Manhattan. Musical direction is by Emily Otto.

The June 22 performance is at 8 PM at Show at Barre, 1714 N. Vermont, in Los Angeles. Tickets: $20. For information, visit www.showatbarre.com or call (323) 661-6163.
