The good news is there's a new play by James Sherman, who wrote the Off-Broadway hit Beau Jest. The bad news is you have only three more days to catch it -- the final performance is Sunday, Dec. 7 at the Victory Gardens Theatre in Chicago.

Romance in D, billed as a "reluctant romantic comedy," focuses on a reclusive musicologist (who is obsessed with Leonard Bernstein) and the newly divorced poetess who moves next door. In true Sherman form, both characters have loving albeit meddlesome parents.

The play features Henrietta Hermelin, James Leaming, Linnea Todd and Howard Witt and is directed by the theatre's artistic director, Dennis Zacek, who also directed the world premieres of Sherman's The God of Isaac, Mr. 80%, The Escape Artist, Beau Jest, This Old Man Came Rolling Home and Jest a Second!

The final performance of Romance in D will be 3 PM Dec. 7 at the Victory Gardens Theatre, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave., Chicago. For tickets, call (773) 871-3000.
