The theatre, billed as "the longest-running year round professional theatre in the state of new York," will open its production of the Kander and Ebb classic Aug. 26, running through Nov. 13. Previews began Aug. 19.
Directed by BT McNicholl with choreography by Susan Taylor, the WBT's production also features Jon Peterson as the Emcee, Joy Franz as Fraulein Schneider, Scott Robertson as Herr Schultz, Cory Brill as Clifford Bradshaw, Fred Rose as Ernst and Penny Ayn Maas as Fraulein Kost. The creative team comprises Peter Barbieri Jr. (set design), Gail Baldoni (costume design) and Andrew Gmoser (lighting design).
Kate Shindle earned the title of Miss America in 1998. She portrayed Sally Bowles in the Roundabout revival of Cabaret and also appeared on Broadway as Lucy in Jekyll & Hyde. Shindle took part in the all-star benefit concert of Children of Eden and was recently seen in the remake of "The Stepford Wives."
Joy Franz has been seen on Broadway in Guys and Dolls, Pippin, Musical Chairs, Open Admissions and the original and revival productions of Into the Woods.
The season at the Westchester Broadway Theatre will also include Meet Me in St. Louis (Nov. 18, 2004-Feb. 5, 2005), Bye Bye Birdie (Feb. 10-April 23), Oliver!
