Shockheaded Peter, which returns to the West End for a limited season at the Albery Theatre, is now booking. When it re-opens at the Albery on April 4 (running to June 15) it will be the production's fifth London outing since the show premiered (in Leeds) in 1998.
Based on Heinrich Hoffman's tales for children, Struwwelpeter, the show is a gothic mixture of art forms that appeals to a younger and generally rather different audience from that usually found in the West End.
Shockheaded Peter was developed by the West Yorkshire Playhouse in conjunction with the Lyric Hammersmith, opening in Leeds in 1998. It was an immediate success and has proved a hit with audiences all over the globe.
