The Tony-winning revival of Show Boat will open at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles Nov. 17, 1996.Directed by Hal Prince for Livent Inc., this 1927 musical by Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II begins previews Nov. 12. The cast has not yet been announced.
Tickets will be offered as part of Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre's 1996-97 subscriptions, which go on sale this spring. Single tickets will go on sale at a later date, to be announced.
Directed and choreographed by Justin Peck, the show previously played an Off-Broadway premiere at Park Avenue Armory.
Whitney White is directing the Off-Broadway production.

The play by Amy Herzog officially opened April 23 on Broadway.
