News "Show Girls" Movie Gets a Snow Ball in the Face With Snow Girls at Southern Rep Southern Rep in New Orleans is teaming up with the local comedy troupe Running With Scissors to create the world-premiere comedy Snow Girls, a parody of the raunchy Vegas-set movie "Show Girls," starting Dec. 3.

According to Southern Rep, "[The] cast will take us on a journey through the North Pole, laughing all the way. Snow Girls follows one brave, ambitious woman on her quest for fame, fortune, and an igloo to call her own."

Richard Read, of Running with Scissors, said in a statement, "If movies were meat products, 'Show Girls' would be a turducken: one part 'Valley of the Dolls,' one part 'All About Eve,' and one part turkey. For our parody called Snow Girls, we've added a side of 'Ice Castles' and a generous helping of ham. Dig in."

Aimée Hayes, artistic director of Southern Rep, said, "The holidays are a time for gratitude and peace. Snow Girls makes us grateful for bad movies that need to be parodied, holiday traditions that could use a tweak, and men in drag with something to say about modern love and ambition."

Snow Girls will feature Bob Edes Jr., Kyle Daigrepont, Armando Leduc, Jack Long, Lisa Picone and Dorian Rushith, plus Brian Peterson as Nomey. Running with Scissors recently produced New Orleans productions of Golden Girls and The Real Housewives of Stepford County.

Opening night is Dec. 4. Performances continue to Dec. 19. For more information about Southern Rep, now in its 24th season, visit www.SouthernRep.com or call (504) 522-6545.
