Parker, who was recently back on Broadway in Craig Lucas' Reckless, plays a "marijuana-dealing housewife" in "Weeds." Variety reports that the cable network has committed to ten episodes of the new program. Mary-Louise Parker won a Golden Globe Award for her performance in the HBO adaptation of Tony Kushner's Angels in America. She garnered a Tony Award for her work in Proof, and her other Broadway credits include Bus Stop and Prelude to a Kiss. She received a Tony nomination and a Theatre World Award for her work in the latter. Parker's many film credits include "Longtime Companion," "Fried Green Tomatoes," "Naked in New York," "Boys on the Side" and "The Five Senses."
