News Shubert Chair Gerald Schoenfeld To Be Saluted by Buckley, Kuhn Nov. 2 Gerald Schoenfeld, longtime chairman of the Shubert Organization -- the Broadway producers and theatre owners -- will be feted on Nov. 2 by the Actors' Fund of America. Among those honoring the showman are Betty Buckley, Skitch Henderson, Barnard Hughes, Judy Kuhn and Donna McKechnie, with many more to be announced.

Gerald Schoenfeld, longtime chairman of the Shubert Organization -- the Broadway producers and theatre owners -- will be feted on Nov. 2 by the Actors' Fund of America. Among those honoring the showman are Betty Buckley, Skitch Henderson, Barnard Hughes, Judy Kuhn and Donna McKechnie, with many more to be announced.

Schoenfeld, who will be the recipient of the Actors' Fund Medal, has headed up the Shubert outfit since the '60s. Under his leadership, the organization has produced countless Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. Previous recipients of the medal include producer Alexander Cohen and actor George Burns.

Hughes is best known for his lead role in Da , Buckley starred in the recent Broadway musical Triumph of Love , McKechnie won a Tony for A Chorus Line , and Kuhn appeared in Chess .

Honored along with Schoenfeld is New York Times publisher Arthur Ochs Sulzberger, Jr.
