Mark Wing-Davey directs the piece about an out-of-town production of Oedipus Rex where the backstage relationships between the six cast members threaten to capsize the production. According to press materials, "reality begins to emulate Oedipus in startling ways." Craig Lucas is the author of Prelude to a Kiss, The Dying Gaul and the new musical Light in the Piazza.
Mark Wing-Davey recently directed Henry V in Central Park. He is perhaps still best known for his memorable work on Caryl Churchill's Mad Forest, in which both Campbell and Shultz appeared. Other credits include the Public Theater's 36 Views and The Skriker.
The show will play the mainstage at PH's new $27 million complex at 416 W. 42nd Street. For information, call (212) 279-4200 or visit www.playwrightshorizons.org.
