Sickles, a playwright whose work has been presented at the Workshop for several seasons, joins a team that also includes newly appointed producing director Christina Romanello and artistic associate Cecily Benjamin.
"Scott C. Sickles has been a stalwart force in this company. He has always worked behind the scenes to support other artists in their endeavors while shaping our staffing efforts as well. We have strengthened our artistic home for years to come," said outgoing artistic director Timothy Scott Harris in a statement.
In addition to authoring the plays Intellectuals, The Philosopher's Joke, From the Top, murmurs, Lightening from Heaven and Moonlight & Love Songs, Sickles also served as company manager of Playwrights Horizons and lead both Running Start Productions and Antipodes Theatrical.
The Workshop Theater Company's forthcoming programming begins with Dana Leslie Goldstein's Next Year in Jerusalem and will feature the one-act collections Recession Special and Cold Snaps.
