The evening, entitled Miranda Sings, will begin at the famed jazz venue at 6 PM. Press notes warn to "expect special guests, including Broadway's Christopher Sieber, composer Scott Alan, onstage voice lessons, fashion makeovers and dramatic readings of hate mail."

Miranda is an internet character created by California-based theatre student Colleen Ballinger, and proliferated via YouTube.

Sieber earned Tony Award nominations for his work as Sir Galahad/The Black Knight/Prince Herbert's Father in Spamalot and as the 4-foot-5-inch Lord Farquaad in Shrek. Other credits include Beauty and the Beast, Chicago, Triumph of Love, Thoroughly Modern Millie and Into the Woods.

Scott Alan wrote the book, music and lyrics for the musical Detour, which was seen in Los Angeles. His current theatre projects include Piece, which was featured at the 2003 Palo Alto TheatreWorks festival, the 2005 NAMT festival and the 2007 Festival of New Musicals at Village Theatre; and the song cycle The Warmth of the Womb. He also produces the monthly Monday Nights, New Voices concert at the Duplex. Alan's music is available on his website, scottalan.net, and at iTunes.

Birdland is located in Manhattan at 315 West 44th Street. For tickets, priced $25-$35 (plus $10 food/drink minimum), call (212) 581-3080 or visit www.BirdlandJazz.com.
