Boggess joins the previously announced Alex Brightman, who will star as Dewey Finn.
“Sierra is a magical performer,” composer Andrew Lloyd Webber said in a statement. “She was a brilliant Christine Daaé in Phantom, and I’m delighted she’ll have this chance to show off her considerable comedic chops in the role of the Rosalie in School of Rock.”
In addition to Lloyd Webber's Phantom, Boggess also starred in that musical's sequel, Love Never Dies, in London.
Based on the Paramount movie written by Mike White, School of Rock has a book by Julian Fellowes, lyrics by Glenn Slater and new music by Lloyd Webber. School of Rock—The Musical will be directed by Laurence Connor.
The production will also feature choreography by JoAnn M. Hunter, scenic and costume design by Anna Louizos, lighting design by Natasha Katz, sound design by Mick Potter and music supervision by Ethan Popp.
It is being produced on Broadway by Andrew Lloyd Webber for The Really Useful Group, Warner Music Group & Access Industries, The Shubert Organization, and The Nederlander Organization. Nina Lannan and Madeleine Lloyd Webber serve as executive producers.
