Classic Arts News   Silk Road Ensemble Remains Atop Billboard Chart

The Billboard classical chart was largely unchanged this week. The top five spots were identical to last week's chart, with Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble's Silk Road Journeys: Beyond the Horizon followed by albums from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, the 5 Browns, and Joshua Bell, as well as Ma's own Yo-Yo Ma Plays Ennio Morricone.

New to the chart was a Nobody's Jig: Mr. Playford's English Dancing Master, a disc of Baroque and Renaissance dance music from the early-music ensemble Les Witches, at number 24 and A Cappella, a collection of conductor Robert Shaw's choral recordings, at number 25.

The self-titled album from the pop-opera foursome Il Divo remained at the top of the classical crossover chart. Alarm Will Sound's Acoustica: Music of Aphex Twin, an acoustic rendering of music by the electronica group, debuted at number 24.
