Classic Arts News Simon Rattle to Conduct Ring Cycle at Aix Simon Rattle will conduct a new production of Wagner's Ring cycle at the Aix-en-Provence Festival starting in 2006, the web site Musical America reports.
The cycle, to take place over four summers, will be accompanied by the Berlin Philharmonic, of which Rattle is music director. St_phane Braunschweig, a French theater director, will direct.

The cast includes Anne Sofie von Otter as Waltraute, Willard White as Wotan, Robert Gambill as Loge, Eva Johansson as Br‹nnhilde, and, as previously reported, Ben Heppner making his role debut as Siegfried.
