This is the second year of the initiative, which last year saw guests Nicholas Hytner, Rob Ashford, Bill Kenwright, Michael Codron, Craig Revel-Horwood, Janie Dee and Sylvia Young choose some of their favorite songs and talk about them in the context of their careers.

The series will benefit The Theatrical Guild, the charity that looks after backstage and front-of-house personnel in need, with all proceeds going towards their work. Visual imagery will be supplied by ArenaPal, a leading U.K.-based entertainment photographic library.

Simon Rusell Beale, who appears May 20, is currently to be found at the National starring as Stalin in the Olivier-Award winning play Collaborators in the Olivier Theatre, where in July he will also play the title role in a new production of Timon of Athens. He is an associate artist at the National Theatre, where his appearances have included London Assurance, Much Ado About Nothing, Jumpers (subsequently in the West End and on Broadway), Humble Boy (subsequently West End) and the title role in Hamlet. He has also starred in West End productions of Deathtrap and Monty Python's Spamalot.

Jeremy Sams, who appears May 27, is currently represented in the West End by his production of The Wizard of Oz. His National Theatre production of Noises Off transferred to the West End and Broadway, and he also directed the original Broadway production of Jason Robert Brown's 13. He has also worked extensively as a lyricist, translator, composer, orchestrator and musical director.

Howard Goodall, who appears June 17, is an Emmy, Brit and BAFTA award-winning composer of choral music, stage musical, ballet, film and television scores as well as England’s First National Ambassador for Singing, Classical Brit Composer of the Year and Classic FM's composer-in-residence, for whom he also hosts regular weekly radio programs. His best-known TV themes include those for "Red Dwarf," "The Catherine Tate Show," "Mr. Bean" and "The Vicar of Dibley." For the theatre, his original musicals include The Hired Man, written with Melvyn Bragg, and Love Story, seen in the West End in 2010. Kerry Ellis, who appears July 8, is best known for being the first British Elphaba in the West End's Wicked, a role she subsequently reprised on Broadway. She also originated the role of Meat in Queen's We Will Rock You and has starred as Nancy in Oliver! and Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, both at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. In December she will star in the new U.K. arena tour of Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds

The evenings, taking place in the intimate settings of Soho Theatre's Soho Downstairs and starting at 6 PM London time, also feature musical performances by Caroline Sheen (currently appearing in the West End as Fantine in Les Miserables) on May 20 and 27, accompanied by Ben Stock; and Emma Williams on June 17 (seen in the West End in Goodall's Love Story, also accompanied by Stock); as well as Kerry Ellis herself (accompanied by Craig Adams) on July 8.
