News Simon's Same Train Set for Algonquin Theater Company Engagement Levy Lee Simon's musical journey of the African-American experience, Same Train, will begin performances at The Algonquin Theater Feb. 13.

Same Train – comprising seven stories penned by Audelco Award-winner Levy Lee Simon and featuring music and lyrics by Mark Bruckner – "interweaves spoken word with gospel, jazz and blues," according to press notes, in order to depict the African-American experience of the twentieth century.

Levy Lee Simon appears in his work, which also features Ayeje Feamster, Eddie Goines, Harrison Lee, Kami Percinthe and Cedric Turner. Mary Beth Easley directs.

The mission of Algonquin Theater Productions is to present readings and showcases of "production ready" works with the aim of successful transfers to Broadway, Off-Broadway, regional production, film and television.
