BT McNicholl stages the comedy that began previews May 7 and will run through June 7 at the Northport, Long Island venue.

Poulos (Rent) is Felix opposite Tony nominee McGrath (Spamalot, Is He Dead?) as Oscar in a cast that also includes John Treacy Egan (The Little Mermaid), Stephen Berger (The Pajama Game), Scott Davidson (Chicago), Eric Leviton (The Full Monty), Christina Bennett Lind and Audra Wahhab.

The Odd Couple "offers a humorous portrait of ordinary guys who are extraordinarily irreconcilable! Based on the conflicting lifestyles of two battling and newly single middle-aged roommates - the obsessive neatnik news writer Felix Ungar and the disorderly and sloppy sportswriter Oscar Madison - this combustible bad 'marriage' is a popular favorite full of hilarious fun," press notes state.

The design team includes Ted LeFevre (scenic design), Gail Baldoni (costume design), Jeff Nellis (lighting design) and Alex Hawthorn (sound design).

The Odd Couple opened on Broadway in 1965 starring Art Carney and Walter Matthau. Matthau later repeated his work for the 1968 film. The play received a Broadway revival in 2005 starring Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane. Neil Simon – the only playwright to have four of his works running on Broadway simultaneously – has been honored with three Tony Awards, a Pulitzer Prize, a Drama Desk Award, an American Comedy Award, a Golden Globe Award and the Kennedy Center Honors. Some of his works for the stage include Barefoot in the Park, The Odd Couple, Chapter Two, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Biloxi Blues and Broadway Bound. He also contributed librettos to the musicals Sweet Charity; Promises, Promises; They're Playing Our Song; and The Goodbye Girl.
