Tunick, who orchestrated the original Broadway production of Into the Woods, returned to work on the film, expanding the orchestrations for Stephen Sondeim's score to suit a 65-piece orchestra.

Two versions of the vocal soundtrack were released, capturing performances by Meryl Streep, Anna Kendrick, James Corden, Chris Pine and more.

Fans of the musical will note that several songs are not included in the film, among them "I Guess This Is Goodbye/Maybe They're Magic," as well as "Ever After" and "No More,"  both of which are listed as only an instrumental track.
