Singers, writers, and comedians have joined Broadway stars in the lineup for the latest in the Concert for America: Stand Up, Sing Out! series, set for San Francisco June 24.
Tony Award nominee Rory O’Malley (Hamilton), actor Sharon Gless (Cagney & Lacey), jazz singer Paula West, operatic tenor Pasquale Esposito, actor Hal Sparks (Queer as Folk), Tales of the City author Armistead Maupin, and playwright-comedian Marga Gomez will perform alongside the previously announced Tony Award winners Alan Cumming and Faith Prince, along with Jane Lynch and Kevin Chamberlin at the Curran Theatre.
The celebrities are gathering to help raise money for five national organizations working to protect human rights in these challenging political times.
Kate Flannery and the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus will also be featured in the June edition of the monthly concert series, created by Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley, benefiting The Southern Poverty Law Center, National Immigration Law Center, The Sierra Club Foundation, NAACP, and National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Participating performers are subject to change.
Rudetsky, a Playbill columnist and Sirius/XM radio personality, will host the 7 PM concert, which features songs, comedy, and commentary. Additional performers are expected to come on board in the coming weeks. The series, which originated at Town Hall in Manhattan and has performed editions in Chicago and elsewhere, will hold its July 6 edition at 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle.
Tickets for the San Francisco concert start at $25 and are now available at SFCURRAN.com. A limited number of $250 VIP tickets, including a post-show reception with cast members, are available by emailing email@example.com.
