News Slut Ends Its Off-Broadway Run Nov. 13 The new musical Slut, starring Altar Boyz' Andy Karl in the title role, ends its limited engagement at the American Theatre of Actors Nov. 13.

The production, which began previews Sept. 13 and officially opened Oct. 1, played 19 previews and 50 regular performances.

Stephen Sislen and Ben H. Winters' musical, which featured direction by Gordon Greenberg, also starred Jenn Colella, Mary Faber, Harriett D. Foy, David Josefsberg, Jim Stanek, Amanda Watkins and Kevin Pariseau.

Slut, according to production notes, concerns the story of "Adam, a single dude on a life-long quest for one-night stands; his best friend, the brilliant Doctor Dan; and the sexy rocker Delia who comes between them. Set in the East Village and around the world, this highly improbable, irreverent adventure comes with singing, dancing, partying, and raspberry margaritas."

Slut played the New York International Fringe Festival in summer 2003. It was the first show in the festival ever to sell out its entire run before the festival opened.

The creative team for the production included Beowulf Boritt (scenic design) and Annie Kennedy (costume design). The musical was presented by James Hammerstein Productions. Andy Karl, who starred in the musical's title role, was seen on Broadway in Saturday Night Fever and Off-Broadway in Altar Boyz and Saturday Night. He also appeared in the world premiere of Disney's On the Record as well as in the national tour of Cats.

Tickets, priced at $55, are available by calling (212) 239-6200. The American Theatre of Actors is located in Manhattan at 314 West 54th Street.
