Stephen Sondheim, A Life in the Theater: An Evening of Music and Conversation will take place at 8 PM in Reynolds Hall. The composer-lyricist of Sweeney Todd, Company and Into the Woods will reminisce about his career and collaborators including Leonard Bernstein, Jerome Robbins and Tim Burton, as well as his mentor Oscar Hammerstein II. Tony winners Ebersole (Grey Gardens) and Mitchell (Man of La Mancha) will perform.
Also planned is a concert by Tony-winning Wicked star Idina Menzel on June 10 at 7:30 PM. Academy Award winner Marvin Hamlisch will conduct.
On Aug. 22 at 7:30 PM, the Smith Center will welcome Steve Martin and The Steep Canyon Rangers for An Evening of Bluegrass and Comedy.
